Mediation
Resolving disputes by agreement, outside the courts.
Mediation is a method in which the parties meet with an impartial mediator and try to resolve their dispute by their own will. The founding partners of our office are also mediators.
For certain disputes listed by law, such as some employment, commercial, consumer and lease disputes, applying to a mediator before filing a lawsuit is mandatory. In other disputes the parties may choose mediation voluntarily.
Key features of mediation
- Voluntary participation and equality of the parties
- Confidentiality
- Impartiality
- A settlement document that, under the conditions set by law, has the force of a court judgment
Whether a dispute falls within mandatory mediation must be assessed according to the specific case.
